# Manage IT Service

# Your IT department, without the department

Managed IT means you stop thinking about it. Updates happen on a schedule instead of whenever somebody clicks the reminder. Backups run, and get tested by actually restoring from them, so you find out they work before you need them rather than after. Machines get replaced because their warranty is ending, not because one died on a Tuesday. And when something does go wrong, there is one number to call, and the person who answers already knows your setup, because it is the person who built it.

Most small offices run IT the same way. Somebody semi technical fixes what they can, a friend of a friend gets called for the rest, and anything that is not actually broken waits its turn. It works, right up until the morning it doesn't, and then everyone finds out at once how much of the business was resting on one machine nobody had looked at in three years.

## What Managed IT Covers

## One contract covering the equipment, the software and the people using both. Here is what sits inside it.

- Helpdesk and day to day support. Password resets, printers that stopped printing, the laptop that will not join the wifi. The small things that eat an afternoon when nobody owns them.
- Networks, firewalls and wifi. Set up properly, documented, and configured so the next person who touches it can follow what was done and why.
- Workstations, servers and printers. Standard builds so every machine behaves the same way, including the large Konica office units most providers quietly avoid.
- Microsoft 365 and user accounts. Mail, Teams, file sharing, licences, and the joiner and leaver process so accounts do not sit live for years after somebody has gone.
- Backups, patching and security. Updates on a schedule, multi factor turned on properly, and backups checked by actually restoring from them.

What does managed IT actually include?

Day to day support for your staff, plus the background work that stops problems happening: updates, backups, security, and keeping track of what equipment you own and when it needs replacing. One monthly fee covers all of it.

What size of business do you work with?

Small and mid sized offices, typically between five and fifty people. Big enough that IT problems cost you real money, small enough that hiring someone full time makes no sense.

Do you work remotely or come onsite?

Both. Most problems get solved remotely, which is faster for you than waiting for somebody to drive over. Hardware, cabling and anything physical gets done onsite.

What areas do you cover?

The Greater Toronto Area. Remote support reaches anywhere, and onsite visits cover Mississauga, Toronto and the surrounding region.

We already have an IT provider. Is it worth talking?

Yes, and you are not obliged to do anything afterwards. A second opinion costs you an afternoon. If your current provider is doing a good job we will tell you that.

How does pricing work?

A fixed monthly fee based on how many people and machines you have. No hourly billing, which means asking a question never costs you extra. You get the number in writing after the assessment, before you commit to anything.
